Maya was one of the millions who fell in love with National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman. Her powerful delivery of “The Hill We Climb” at the 2021 Inauguration was unforgettable, and a reminder of hope, courage, and possibility.

This lemon raspberry vegan cookie was created in her honor, inspired by Amanda’s iconic bright yellow coat and striking red headband. We soak raspberries in lemon juice overnight, then fold them into a buttery dough with white chocolate chunks and a dash of lemon zest. The result is a sweet-tart bite that feels like sunshine, and a delicious reminder that “there is always light,” and we are all “brave enough to be it.”
