Description: Will help prepare ingredients to make dough with availability to
include days, evenings, and weekends to handle the freshest ingredients.
Baking assistants work under direct supervision. They will apply basic and some
advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment.
-Maintain the Maya’s Cookies quality standards in the creation of each product.
-Mixing ingredients, shaping, chopping, baking, wrapping and stocking of
-Perform culinary food preparation and other duties as instructed by the
Manager, Head Baker or General Manager.
-Ensure all food is prepared, handled and stored according to all required food
safety code standards
-Operate and maintain bakery equipment including, but not limited to, mixers,
ovens, sheeters, three-compartment sink/dishwasher, grease traps, etc.
-Ensure quality control of all products before sending to warehouse or storefront
-Cleaning and storing of all bakery pots, pans, utensils and dishes either by hand
or utilizing dishwashing equipment.
-Maintain organization of back storage, freezer, walk-in and production area.
-Reads and executes daily production list.
-Perform shifts, fulfill orders and complete production as scheduled
-Perform dishwasher duties as needed
-experience with commercial production preferred
-excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-Ability to handle stressful situations
-Good verbal and written communication skills
-Lift and carry moderate to heavy loads (minimum of 50 lbs) Bend, push and pull.
-Ability to work a flexible schedule (days, evenings, weekends, and holidays)
-Ability to inform customers about the ingredients
